Echos and silence, patience and grace

A little bit more from the stunning new collection available at LaViere with a dash of lots of my other favourite things!  I can't begin to tell you how much I adore this dress, whilst it works perfectly on its own i preferred to pair it with these spiffy leggings made by the fabulous Steffy Ghost. 

Also, I'm loving these skin previews that Ivy Graves has been tossing around for the new line that is due to hit illusory stores eventually.  This particular skin was available at the launch of Collabor88 for a mere $88L (seriously how attractive is that price?).  I believe the skin is still available until the 7th of September but I may be wrong.  I have included a link to the Collabor88 event though for anyone who wishes to check it out.

Last days of summer

It has been unseasonably warm here the last few days, so I felt like running through some meadows celebrating the last glimmer of summer.

When the days are warm but the afternoon bring in a subtle chill, I am a happy happy girl.  Farewell sweet summer, I'll miss you.

I have an unhealthy addiction to poses, i'll admit it, so letting me loose at Pose Fair was a D A N G E R O U S idea.  As a result my managery of KittyCats are feeling neglected, my SL friends have been wondering why I have been more antisocial than usual and my $L have headed in sharp downward trend that would alarm even the most avid shopper BUT I am one happy little pose junkie.

Getting back to me

I plurked today that I felt that sometimes we (referring to me) lose sight of why we do things and when that happens, the things we enjoy stop being so enjoyable.   I've been so caught up recently in trying to be artsy that I kind of lost some of the enjoyment I get out of blogging.  I started blogging because I enjoy putting little outfits together, and showcasing some of what the amazingly talented designers of our lil world are able to create.    Artsy may come with a little more practice, but for now I'm going to be comfortable with being me, doing the best I can and remembering why I started blogging in the first place.

I've been playing with makeup a lot over the last few days and was feeling all very bright and colourful.  Tattoo make up is really exploding in popularity lately and Kozmetica is a great place to start your collection if you are getting ready to jump on the tattoo bandwagon.  Of course, Kozmetica isn't the only place offering tattoo makeup but it is the first 'mall' type shop where you will find many great brands all under one roof.

Extend A Helping Hand - The Queensland Flood Appeal

I am a Queenslander, this is a statement I have often made with pride, today it is with desperation, despite the fact that  I am one of the lucky ones.  I have seen some flooding in my suburb but for the most part my home is safe with only a few minor puddles in the backyard.  I have both my parents and my grandparents currently residing with me as they have had to evacuate their homes.  I have friends and family all over the state that are stranded and have lost everything.  I know people on my plurk that have loved ones that are unaccounted for and I am aware of many other Australian Second Life residents that are bracing themselves as the waters continue to rise.   My heart, along with millions of others, is breaking as our state drowns. 

As i am writing this, Queensland has now been declared a Disaster area.  Some three-quarters of the state is currently being effected in some way by rising water.  More than 100,000 homes are without power, 12 people have been confirmed dead with another 50+ missing.  More than 20,000 properties in Brisbane alone are expected to suffer major flooding by 4am tomorrow morning as the Brisbane river continues to overflow, engulfing all in it's path and that is only one of a handful of scenarios being seen around this state.  More concerning is that most of these people are not covered for flooding by insurance as insurance companies, since 1974, have not offered it as an option.

We are desperate and we need your help.  Sanura Sakai, along with dozens of very generous vendors, has put together the Extend A Helping Hand Market to raise money for the Premier's Disaster Relief Appeal, all funds donated to this appeal will be going to help the victims of the Queensland Flood Disaster.   There are some truly wonderful items available, many of them exclusive to the event, such as the gorgeous dress I am wearing in the above picture.   So please, dig deep if you can and if you can't, please keep us in your thoughts as we prepare for the worst.

52 Weeks of Colour Challenge - Silver
